@jacksontaylortv @pierre_rochard I'm not sure, tbh! Seems like it will sort itself out. If Bitcoin is the dominant world money I doubt it will be easy to shift the price drastically day to day. Before that happens it seems silly to spend it when not absolutely necessary. — PolitiTweet.org

@ForkingBlocks @rweisbein @zherring @pierre_rochard I think you're purposefully misunderstanding me at this point. I'm trying to show why value slipping through your fingers over time is unnatural but your mind has been warped by Keynesians. — PolitiTweet.org

@ForkingBlocks @rweisbein @zherring @pierre_rochard Labor doesn't have a direct correlation with value, but something seems screwy in a world where food requires orders of magnitude less labor compared to 100 years ago and yet it costs vastly more in dollar terms. — PolitiTweet.org

@ForkingBlocks @rweisbein @zherring @pierre_rochard Okay desert island analogy time. Stuck on an island, takes me eight hours a day to find enough berries live. Now I build a berry picking robot which only requires an hour of daily maintenance. How many hours a day do I need to work to eat the same? — PolitiTweet.org

@tofke23 @jacksontaylortv If your idea's value is primarily realizable through PR and production then it makes sense that someone good at those things would best realize the value. The antidote is to keep it secret until you're on the market. That's what the inventory of Hotmail did. — PolitiTweet.org

@ForkingBlocks @rweisbein @zherring @pierre_rochard As we become more efficient as a society why do I work more hours to buy the same stuff? I'm not realizing these productivity gains. @ForkingBlocks @zherring @pierre_rochard Investing in a fiat world is running just to stay still, that's the part Bitcoin solves. There will still be pro investors, but investing won't be a mandatory activity for anyone who wants to maintain value through time. — PolitiTweet.org

@ForkingBlocks @zherring @pierre_rochard The Y here imo is the rise in GDP. Basically the total value that is stored in Bitcoin. Since economics isn't zero sum, value is created when people transact with Bitcoin. That value naturally accrues to people who hold it. A stablecoin is what's artificial and nonsensical. — PolitiTweet.org

@Fonta1n3 @pierre_rochard I guess I was wrong about the zeros, that's just how it's usually explained. The difficulty is a number, the miner needs to find a number lower than that number. Every 2016 blocks the difficulty is adjusted up or down based on how long it took to find the last 2016 blocks. — PolitiTweet.org

@Justin_Schmidt1 @kylebshr @pierre_rochard Ah sry I can't count sentences. When you work you create value and you get paid money. But if that money becomes worthless over time you have to find other methods to protect the value you earned (like buying stocks). Bitcoin stores value so it's there later without the hassle. — PolitiTweet.org

@lordswann @pierre_rochard Some nerds invented their own money. It's not controlled by the government, and it can't be inflated. It's pure scarcity, sort of like digital gold. I know, it sounds stupid, but it actually works. It's been going 10 years! It's so good that Trump even said it's not money. Wild. — PolitiTweet.org

@ForkingBlocks @zherring @pierre_rochard Deflationary is an excellent characteristic for money. I want to transport value through time by simply holding onto money instead of competing with professional investors in the stock market. There are no sure things, but provable scarcity eases my mind. — PolitiTweet.org

@Fonta1n3 @pierre_rochard The difficulty is set like a lottery so that any miner could find a block at any time, but on average a block is found every 10 minutes. If the miners are going faster than that, the difficulty is "increased" which means they need to find an even smaller number randomly. — PolitiTweet.org

@Fonta1n3 @pierre_rochard With Bitcoin the dice rolls are SHA256 hashes of the current transactions waiting to be verified (plus a random number called a nonce). SHA256 is just a number. Whichever miner finds a hash under the current difficulty (hence the leading zeros) gets the block reward. — PolitiTweet.org
