I'm not an expert on Puerto Rican politics. In fact, I may as well know nothing. Perhaps for for that reason, I don't understand why PR gubernatorial races, etc. are taken as a strong indicator of its likely partisanship after hypothetical admission to the union — PolitiTweet.org

I can imagine a way to reconcile it all. Maybe one should assume it votes Democratic in presidential elections, as it would in a FL Senate election, but would be quite competitive with a Puerto Rican Republican Senate candidate. But I don't know why I'd assume that, either — PolitiTweet.org
