@WhitsonGordon i just wish i could have them paired to my phone and my computer at the same time, why can’t anyone other than jabra figure that out — PolitiTweet.org

@chriswb haven’t had them long enough to say — the AirPods Pro are pretty comfortable too. but they pop out of my ear canals whenever i talk, which is frustrating. we’ll see if the buds do the same. — PolitiTweet.org

way late to this party, but the galaxy buds pro are surprisingly comfortable, even in my tiny ears with tiny ear canals. — PolitiTweet.org

@Wee_Bey78 i think it’s just a thing to make people go “wow cool” because they don’t realize it’s not very useful a quirk or feature, if you will. — PolitiTweet.org

@jlgolson @trevorlong passenger is most likely going to be holding/using their phone though, so it feels even more useless to them. also wireless charging is so slow. i get the tech appeal, but in the car is probably the last place i’d want to use it. — PolitiTweet.org

@Wee_Bey78 but there are at least four USB ports (that I’ve found so far) — PolitiTweet.org

@MishaalRahman yeah, but it doesn’t support CP too, so it’s out (shared family car, wife has an iPhone. sometimes I do too). there are CP wireless adapters, but nothing that does both AFAIK. also they are all kinda janky. we use a 3-in-1 Anker cable that works fine. — PolitiTweet.org

@Wee_Bey78 i guess, but it charges so slowly. they’ll probably just plug in a cable — PolitiTweet.org

@NexusBen won’t work for my wife’s iPhone tho ;) there are add ons for wireless CarPlay too but all of them are kinda janky looking and nothing supports both AA and CP. an Anker 3-in-1 USB cable does the job, it’s just silly to put a wireless charger in there that will never get used. — PolitiTweet.org

@MishaalRahman yes, both wired AA and CarPlay. which is why i’ll never use the wireless charger — my phone will be plugged in the entire time. — PolitiTweet.org

we got a new family car today and it has a built-in wireless charger but doesn't support wireless carplay or android auto, so i will never use that wireless charger. why are car makers like this — PolitiTweet.org

@PhotonEmpress managing comms with on-call folks is tricky — if someone is on-call and there’s an emergency, there’s a reason to make sure they get the message! but if it’s a non-emergency, maybe wait to send it or bundle it up as much as you can. — PolitiTweet.org

all this said, i’m far from perfect and i’m sure people on my team are reading this thread and saying “wait that jerk just emailed/slacked me last weekend” and for that I’m sorry. but it is something i do try to acknowledge and respect, even if i fail at it from time to time. — PolitiTweet.org

another way you can make this easier: if you are messaging someone in a chat app like Slack and it’s during their off hours, send EVERYTHING in one message, don’t send a bunch of short messages in a row. treat it like an email, not a chat app. — PolitiTweet.org

this is doubly hard when you work with people in different time zones. but it’s your responsibility as a manager to respect your team and if you are messaging them on off hours, to not expect a response (and be VERY clear with them that you do not & it can be handled during work) — PolitiTweet.org

@jareddipane has to be installed via admin and I’m not going through the hoops to get it on our corp server. reminders work for me, slack should just have this natively. — PolitiTweet.org

it really doesn’t matter what you say to staff, if you as a manager or boss contact them on off hours, they will feel obligated to respond. DND features don’t always alleviate that. you need to be cognizant of when you’re messaging people on your team and respect that. — PolitiTweet.org

cosign. i work weekends a bunch because that’s when I get quiet thinking time. but i set emails to send during normal work hours. i would also love if Slack had a scheduled message feature — i currently set reminders to myself to message people during work hours. — PolitiTweet.org

Y’all. If you work weekends — which I sometimes do — don’t foist that expectations onto others. Schedule your email… https://t.co/ERIiwtk0Xa
