@ericgeller I don’t think she’s really dead. This is Star Wars - where you can get cut in half and survive - and we never saw a body.

* A perhaps underappreciated line is Mon saying the Chandrilan insistence on certain traditions is "stronger here than it is at home." What a great bit of world-building. Are hardliners in the expat community on Coruscant trying to preserve what they see as a dying way of life? — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
* When Mon remarks that she & Vel performed the same ritual that Leida is now doing, Vel retorts that, actually, only Mon did. It’s an interesting detail that suggests that Vel’s rebellious streak developed first, and at an early age. I want to know more about their early lives. — PolitiTweet.org

* Dedra's plan to catch Cassian by approving & surveilling Maarva's funeral reminds me of how the U.S. military watches the funerals of terrorists it kills to gather information about their surviving accomplices. Perhaps not an explicit reference, but definitely a familiar vibe. — PolitiTweet.org

* Funny to see a quadjumper. I'm sure I'm not the only one who immediately thought of The Force Awakens and "The garbage will do!" * Our one brief Bix scene shows how ISB torture has left her a hollow shell of herself. She can’t even speak when ordered to. Save her, Cass! — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
Some misc thoughts to wrap up: * Love seeing Cassian and Melshi’s friendship form. Hope they reunite in S2. * Enjoyed Vel & the undercover ISB agent chatting w/o knowing each other's secret missions. The mix of simmering agendas gives Ferrix an almost Casablanca-like feel. — PolitiTweet.org

Syril has faced serious setbacks in this season, but far from dampening his obsessive personality, these obstacles have rekindled it — especially by bringing him into contact with Dedra. Now he thinks he has a good chance of confronting Cassian. Pop that popcorn, folks. — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
Syril furiously gesturing for his mom to stop listening in on his comm call with Mosk is very funny & relatable. So is the determination that his mother's parting mockery seems to inspire in him. So, I suppose, is him stealing her credit card (?) to pay for his trip to Ferrix. — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
I liked the absurdist humor of Mosk's connection being so bad that he can’t hear Syril and just responds to what he thinks he's saying, all in his trademark stoic manner. Of course, this only frustrates Syril further, because he can’t get all the information he wants from Mosk. — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
I like that Mosk, like Syril, is still so committed to catching Cassian that he's still listening for scraps of information about his whereabouts. Or maybe he just remains committed to impressing his former superior. Either way, given what we've seen of Mosk, it makes sense. — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
Let's talk about Syril, our ridiculous fascist Boy Scout. With one ep left in the season, it seems like everyone will be converging on Ferrix. And this penultimate ep finds a very amusing way to send Syril there, with the surprise return of his fellow bumbling fool Sgt. Mosk. — PolitiTweet.org

The stunned, furious expression on the cruiser captain’s face is a great coda to a scene that brilliantly demonstrates Luthen’s supreme mastery of his situation. If you thought he was just a smooth talker and a ruthless strategist, you were wrong. He's also a damn good pilot. — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
But we needn't have worried. Luthen decimates the cruiser’s tractor beam and then easily wipes out the TIE fighters with a gun turret and an incredibly cool new laser beam weapon. 😲 The effortlessness to Luthen’s actions was great. Made him seem even more calm and controlled. — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
When Luthen's ID checks out, you think he's in the clear — but then the cruiser captain decides to board him anyway. Luthen engages his engine — but the cruiser holds him fast. It’s this incredible seesaw of a scene that generates a whirlwind of emotion. — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
Andor is so good at driving visceral tension into its scenes. The ensuing sequence — Luthen stalling for time, the cruiser scanning his ID, him powering up his thrusters and preparing countermeasures — is so stressful. I honestly started to wonder if this would be it for Luthen! — PolitiTweet.org
Eric Geller @ericgeller
The opening shot of this scene is so great: Luthen's Haulcraft flying over Segra Milo as the cruiser floats into view behind him. Predator stalking prey, like Vader closing in on the Tantive IV. It really drives home the menace of the Empire. It gave me a sudden spike of worry. — PolitiTweet.org
