Wal-Mart and the cops teamed up to track down a man who stole two boxes of diapers and some baby wipes, relenting only when hundreds of strangers begged them to stop and offered to pay for the items themselves. https://t.co/siRAP6bYBh — PolitiTweet.org

real problem here is someone thought they were being cute with the ambiguity in 'have' as a verb but they weren't being cute, the ambiguity isn't insightful it just causes the saying to teeter on madness — PolitiTweet.org
Elizabeth Bruenig @ebruenig
phrase "you can't have your cake and eat it too" is ambiguous. of course you can have your cake and eat it too, sequentially. you should have to say "you can't simultaneously have your cake and eat it too" so it's clear that you're saying you can't possess *and* consume it — PolitiTweet.org

obv very versatile. when i make it for my dopey kids i don't put in any garlic because they whine about it. sometimes i add pepper flakes. when tomatoes are in season, i'll add chopped peeled fresh tomatoes in at the end. you can go hog wild — PolitiTweet.org
Elizabeth Bruenig @ebruenig
then you just cook the pasta and add the juice+tomato+garlic mix to sauce it. put it in a bowl, add cheese, put some basil on top, and you're done. voila. if you have basically nothing in your pantry and can't be bothered this is the dish for you — PolitiTweet.org
Elizabeth Bruenig @ebruenig
i make the sauce with canned tomatoes. you just pour the whole can out over a strainer and catch the juice, then squash the tomatoes so they're kind of juiced, too. then you roast/caramelize them in butter with garlic for a long time to concentrate the flavor. then add juice back — PolitiTweet.org

really simple! some mixed greens with roasted butternut squash and brussel sprouts, dressed with a fig balsamic dressing. (bought the squash already cubed, bought the dressing bottled.) served with ricotta. then just linguine in roasted tomato garlic sauce with parm + fresh basil — PolitiTweet.org

@haplessclown i did think about that -- a navy blue crossed my mind, even, like a night time forest with a harvest moon on top of the cake! i might do that eventually. — PolitiTweet.org

@2ndof10 a crumb coat is just a rough first coat of frosting to keep the crumbs in so they don't show up on your outer coat. it helps make your cake more stable for decorating and makes the outer coat application much smoother :) — PolitiTweet.org

then I frosted the cake, and pressed the dried cookies in gently, allowing them to set in the fridge for 15m. once set, I piped some yellow leaves on, and…ta-da! birch forest cake! https://t.co/Mh3bcATA9V — PolitiTweet.org
