*I say "R v D" bc Alaska had an R-on-R race. Oklahoma had a special election and a regular election - in both, Dems did better than Biden had in 2020, but lost by landslides. — PolitiTweet.org
David Weigel @daveweigel
House races were obviously better for Rs, but I count 68 districts where Ds ran stronger than Biden had there in 2020. — PolitiTweet.org
David Weigel @daveweigel
Also it's clear that Dems lost the House in NY and CA - vast majority of losses in Biden-carried districts were in those states. Anyway, subscribe to the newsletter, this is what we're talking about tomorrow. — PolitiTweet.org

But in the closest Senate races - the ones decided by less than 5 points - AZ/GA/PA shifted a couple points to the left and NC/NV/WI shifted a couple points to the right. A billion dollars spent to move the 2020 margin by inches. — PolitiTweet.org

Biggest shift in a competitive race was (obviously) Florida, where Rubio ran 11.1 points ahead of Trump 2020. Biggest shift against an incumbent Dem was in NY - Schumer ran 13.2 points behind Biden 2020 margin. — PolitiTweet.org

Combing 2022 numbers now that Georgia's done, and struck again by how little the 2020 coalitions changed. In the 34 R v D Senate races, 21 Rs improved on Trump 2020, mostly in deep red states and NY. But 13 Rs ran behind Trump, often in targeted states (AZ/GA/OH/PA/NH/CO). — PolitiTweet.org

@falkelord @LazlosGhost I remember being annoyed by end-of-year critics list when I was a kid, bc I lived in a suburb and we wouldn't see half this stuff until it hit the video store. Now you can pay $5-20 and stream most of the obscure stuff in your house, it's much more fun. — PolitiTweet.org

@LazlosGhost We're due for a pretty populist Oscars list in 2023. A few actual hits (Top Gun: Maverick, EEAAO) in the mix, while the more challenging stuff (EO, Tar) isn't getting seen much outside of the big cities. I'm ride-or-die for Tar btw — PolitiTweet.org
