@GlenTheLucario I don't know the details of what Cellebrite is selling, but I believe this is something that Signal can't fix. I think they're likely rooting the OS and accessing the data directly, bypassing the backup API. This is something Apple/Google would need to fix to secure their phones — PolitiTweet.org

@GlenTheLucario I believe it stores them encrypted on the device, but using OS-level encryption that gets unlocked when the phone is unlocked. So if you have an unlocked phone, and you root it, you can access all of the data of all of the apps — PolitiTweet.org
