@benpopper there are other reasons to go electric of course, such as never having to go to the gas station, much smaller carbon footprint (when traveling, the manufacturing footprint still very high), no engine maintenance etc. — PolitiTweet.org

@benpopper with modern cars my experience has been that the annual maintenance is more around tires/brakes than engine work, which you’d still have with electric. i def don’t spend $500/yr on engine work for either car of ours (2012 and 2018 models). — PolitiTweet.org
