any other automation platform, even Alexa, lets you specify “turn off device when no motion detected for five minutes” or whatever set time you choose. HomeKit is too dumb to do this and I haven’t found a third party app that can either (yes, I tried Eve) — PolitiTweet.org

anyways, because of course i also have a SmartThings instance running, i used that to program a motion detector/temp sensor to turn on the fan in my office when the temp is above 70F and motion is detected and then turn the fan off when there’s no motion for five minutes. — PolitiTweet.org
