any other automation platform, even Alexa, lets you specify “turn off device when no motion detected for five minutes” or whatever set time you choose. HomeKit is too dumb to do this and I haven’t found a third party app that can either (yes, I tried Eve) — PolitiTweet.org

@jtylerjones i was able to get Ring cameras and alarm system successfully into the Home app, which was my original goal. so that part of Homebridge was a win. — PolitiTweet.org

@jtylerjones good luck! ironically Homebridge is the easy part. dealing with the Home app is a lot more frustrating. i just used a Pi4 kit that I bought off Amazon for the server. — PolitiTweet.org
