2/ Actually I was once invited to lecture in the House of Commons (UK). The receptionists wd not let me in without a tie (even though I was wearing a suit). I told them I was Iranian & ties were taboo. They looked up the rules allowing "traditional" clothes & let me in. — PolitiTweet.org
