i'd add that candidate quality obviously can still matter no matter what happened in '14 -- just look at '18! Tester and Manchin won states that Trump romped to victory in. And if things had gone s midge better for Clinton in '16, we'd be talking about Jason Kander's re-elect rn — PolitiTweet.org
