The Board doesn’t want to fire O’Keefe. They understand that PV falls apart without him. But they’re personally on the hook if PV violates tax law. They have to take steps to correct the violations. O’Keefe quitting doesn’t do that, and just makes PV have to spend $ on lawyers. — PolitiTweet.org

I see two things: 1) O’Keefe engaged in spending that benefited himself and put PV’s nonprofit status at risk. Board’s hands were legally tied. 2) This might’ve been resolved by a reimbursement, but O’Keefe quit in advance. Board might have to sue to claw back now. — PolitiTweet.org

They are mad that his Project Veritas Experience lost money as a one-off event. MY GOODNESS. This is absurd. Please read it.

If I take a flight, I get reimbursed for a coach ticket. If it’s a cross-country red-eye, and I need to upgrade to first class for my health, that sucks for me, but it’s $500 out of my own pocket—the nonprofit can’t pay for the upgrade. A $14,000 charter flight? Unthinkable. — PolitiTweet.org
