There are human beings generating all of this data. A whole chain of human beings is required to count a new case, hospitalization, etc. Often the definitions aren't straightforward, even for deaths. (Are patients tested for COVID-19 posthumously?). All of this takes time. — PolitiTweet.org

I will say the US seems to have fewer weekend effects than some of the European countries (e.g. France, Germany). But we've only been at this for a few weeks so hard to know exactly where and when they matter more. — PolitiTweet.org
