Don't know if this is a sign of the new normal. But for a while the political takes on here were usually broad-stroked and macroscopic (e.g "the government was badly prepared and too slow to act") and now they're getting more esoteric and banal like it's a typical day on Twitter. — PolitiTweet.org

@DKThomp I would guess that 1) The chains of communication (from epidemiologists to politicians to PR people) aren't great 2) There are some slightly perverse incentives (i.e. states competing for PPE/ventilators) that may encourage them to lean into the more pessimistic projections. — PolitiTweet.org
