Yeah there's no reason to stick to state boundaries when drawing up these regions. Quite a few states (PA, TX, FL, MO, VA are among the most obvious) really belong in multiple regions depending on which part of the state we're talking about. — PolitiTweet.org

@conorsen I mean I think the funnest way to approach the problem is as follows. Draw the best regions you can given that: * There can be no more than X regions. * Regions must be contiguous. * Crossing state lines is OK! * Ignore AK/HI/PR — PolitiTweet.org
