I wanted to comment on this remark, which is flattering to me but I think implicitly disparaging of my editors at Vox in an unfair way. There's a pretty simple explanation — I checked the stats and my traffic at Slow Boring even on the free posts is *terrible* by Vox standards. — PolitiTweet.org

After reading Matt Yglesias Substack exhaustively I strongly prefer him without an editor to whatever was happening at Vox.

Vox is not a traffic-obsessed website, but when you are running an ad-supported free site then obviously traffic matters especially if (like me) you don't do the kind of work that wins prestigious awards or cover topics that are sponsor-friendly. — PolitiTweet.org
