IIRC the term was originally used in a Covid context to signify internal travel restrictions in China and Italy — towns were “locked down” and people couldn’t come and go — which the US hasn’t done at all. — PolitiTweet.org

An interesting aspect of Gettysburg is that rather than preserving the battlefield as it was in 1863, the park in effect preserves the later 19th century memorialization of the battle which is done in an eclectic style at odds with today’s sensibilities. — PolitiTweet.org
