@EricLoblaw @MattBruenig I believe in apostolic succession and the efficacy of the sacraments, but that doesn't mean the clergy are sinless or even mostly good. @EricLoblaw @MattBruenig I think it's hard to divorce the broader decline in religiosity and the wider legitimation crisis from the decline in Catholicism per se. At this point much of the harm has to do with avoiding accountability for past crimes, which I'm not sure disaffiliation would affect much. — PolitiTweet.org
