@ijbailey @clairlemon In one paradigm we progress by debating and critiquing and learning. In another we progress via stigma and shunning and pressuring others to declare wrong thing beyond the pale in ways that confer punitive penalties. Latter mode can be warranted but is IMHO dramtically overused — PolitiTweet.org
