@nomadic_coder @pierre_rochard This is my "what's an address?" moment and I'm not happy about it — PolitiTweet.org
Paul @futurepaul
@pierre_rochard To transfer Bitcoin you send it to an address ("public key"). The ledger is public, so everyone can see each time an address receives Bitcoin, which is a privacy issue. An Xpub ("extended public key") is a factory to generate addresses so you can give out a unique one every time. — PolitiTweet.org

@michaelmalice most persuasive thing for me in recent years is people who predict the future and can remember the past without contorting it. non-persuasive people do neither, so slowly lose credibility. — PolitiTweet.org

Lol Jerome Powell just said our banking system was "highly liquid" pre-covid. I'm a total pleb and even I know that's a total lie. From 2019: https://t.co/hz6yj4OegX — PolitiTweet.org

Ah, Jerome Powell is clarifying that the federal reserve is a blunt instrument, need a whole government / society approach to job growth. So it's the Fed's job to give free money to banks and it's our job to create jobs. That makes a lot more sense. — PolitiTweet.org
Paul @futurepaul
I don't really understand the Federal Reserve, but its basic strategy seems to be: "if we print more dollars and give them to banks then more people will have jobs." Is that about right? — PolitiTweet.org

@soerenlindhoff @saifedean exactly this actually. cheap abundant energy allows us to live in a huge range of climates. our experience of climate variance used to involved a lot more death. even if you fully accepted the worst global warming projections we'd still be better off with fossil fuels — PolitiTweet.org
