They have been working extra shifts for months and are clearly fatigued. They are counting on us to wear our masks, physically distance, stay home when sick and wash our hands. It works and it’s working! /end https://t.co/S7ZPc80jPM — PolitiTweet.org

While all the evidence suggests we are heading in the right direction, we can do better! Today we visited the front-lines at @Intermountain. While we have preserved hospital beds and ICU space, we are wearing out our healthcare workers. 4/ https://t.co/NzW7SpUpcX — PolitiTweet.org

Unlike testing which fluctuates, really sick people go to the hospital whether they test or not. Our 14 day avg hospitalization number is DOWN vs the previous 14 days, from 27.5 to 23.7, with a steady decline since July 9th. That’s a transmission rate of 0.82 (excellent news). 3/ — PolitiTweet.org

It is not yet clear if this is just a result of fewer cases (good!), public fatigue (not good) or something else. However, there is another metric that is even better to help us determine if we really are slowing the viral spread: hospitalizations. 2/ — PolitiTweet.org

While I am excited to see our case counts continue to fall, I worry that our test numbers are down this week. We always see lower numbers following a holiday weekend. And while yesterday was good, I expected today to be higher. Testing sites are simply reporting less demand. 1/ — PolitiTweet.org

Never fun to see this on your drive home. Right on the Sanpete/Utah county border in the old wood hollow fire scar. Good news is there’s not much left to burn after 2012. Great news: “Utah saw its GDP grow by over 40% between 2005 and 2017, while its greenhouse gas emissions dropped by 12.9% over the same period.” And our air will continue to improve with Tier 3 gasoline. Sustainable growth is critical for us all. https://t.co/pc1hIqsR5r — PolitiTweet.org

@Ben_Dowsett @GovHerbert Thanks for engaging. I give my best advice to the Governor and he makes decisions. That will continue. I don’t always agree, but to suggest he is manipulating testing (even if he had the power to do it, which he doesn’t) is just wrong. I hope you have a good day. — PolitiTweet.org

@Ben_Dowsett @GovHerbert I deal every day with people that have been turned away incorrectly from IHC or UofU. We do not control them. I’m heading into a meeting with stakeholders on education now. Spencer Cox @SpencerJCox
@Ben_Dowsett @GovHerbert You are missing how tests are reported. Those 8,000 tests reported on Friday were mostly from Tuesday and Wednesday of that week. It takes 1-5 days for tests to be processed depending on where they happen. The tests are then backfilled in the reporting to the days they were taken — PolitiTweet.org
