@rcadden i think Apple sees MagSafe as a new accessory ecosystem, it has cases, docks, chargers, etc that work with it. — PolitiTweet.org

@Sethjk @rcadden @reckless @backlon this is one of the bigger hurdles, yes, which is why it may take a couple of years for the port to fully disappear. Could see a MagSafe wireless CarPlay adapter solving it. — PolitiTweet.org

@journeydan yeah buttttt… aren’t you just charging at 5W on the Pixel because Google doesn’t support anything faster outside of the Pixel Stand, the MagSafe doesn’t do above 7.5W without the NFC chip, and the 25W Samsung adapter is (probably) doing some kind of silly shenanigans? — PolitiTweet.org

@rcadden also it’s much thinner and smaller than other pads. cons: * cord is too short * doesn’t come with a charging brick * is $39 — PolitiTweet.org

@rcadden yes, but there’s a little more to it. it charges at 15W, which is more than most Qi pads support. it also never misses the charging coil, which is the biggest issue with wireless charging pads. and finally, you can use it while it’s charging, which you can’t do with other pads. — PolitiTweet.org

@RyneHager @ampressman best part of PM is the 90 day trial so you can actually test it properly to see if it works for you. once you’re set up and comfortable with the keeb shortcuts, you’ll never want to go back — PolitiTweet.org

@RyneHager @ampressman it does, the steps take seconds, whereas wading through LR to do its thing takes decades off my life. i’m never culling in LR again. — PolitiTweet.org

@RyneHager @ampressman you can then quickly filter down your selects and copy those into a folder very easily all within PM. — PolitiTweet.org

@RyneHager @ampressman there’s no issue with LR, it’s just processing RAW files like always. what makes PM so magical is how fast it is at rendering thumbs from RAW files, so you can zip through hundreds of photos in a matter of minutes, flagging keepers and ignoring the rest. — PolitiTweet.org

@RyneHager @ampressman here’s my workflow: * copy from SD card to storage drive via PhotoMechanic * cull images down in PhotoMechanic, put selects in a folder * drag that folder into LR, which will “import at current location” * process/export images from LR as normal — PolitiTweet.org

@ampressman i used to use LR/bridge for organization culling, but those have got to be the slowest apps on earth. now i import/organize/cull in photo mechanic and then take those selects to lightroom when i’m ready to process. it’s an order of magnitude faster. — PolitiTweet.org

@jp2e yeah, home/away, but not room based presence detection alongside the remote temp sensors, a la Ecobee. in general, it remains frustrating how little Google's platform integrates with itself. — PolitiTweet.org

@jp2e the fact that Google never integrated these sensors or the presence sensors in the Nest Protect smoke detectors with the thermostat system is baffling and a big whiff IMO — PolitiTweet.org

@davezatz i just plugged it into a Zendure SuperTank with 100W PD output and it works to charge my iPhone 11. do not know if it will give the full 15W to an iPhone 12 yet, though. — PolitiTweet.org
