@vmarks per usual, Eero is rather opaque with any of that data. — PolitiTweet.org

@vmarks the secondary node was a floor below the main, directly underneath it. not a huge distance to travel. i can’t wire into the main node from my home office without running new ethernet throughout the house. tested that with a laptop in my living room, which isn’t a real world use — PolitiTweet.org

@chriswb no, my general recommendation is to wait if you can. other outlets have recommended the Asus XT8, but I have not had an opportunity to test it yet. — PolitiTweet.org

I'd love to see another tier of control added, which is what enthusiasts craving speed and willing to pay $600 for a router are looking for. — PolitiTweet.org

lastly, Eero's best features -- great reliability, strong coverage, easy set up -- can be had on its entry level routers, which start at $100 or so. the company could do some work to justify the "Pro" label on its high-end stuff beyond just more square footage and extra bands. — PolitiTweet.org

@Ohthatflo possibly, could also be the 2x2 radios on the "low" 5GHz band cramping throughput. really hard to tell, as I'm not an engineer :) all i can say is i expected faster speeds that I got. — PolitiTweet.org

... I think most people should hold off on Wi-Fi 6 mesh in general. the performance and speed increases for gigabit internet service aren't that much greater than a good tri-band Wi-Fi 5 system and Wi-Fi 6E is right around the corner, which nothing on the market supports rn. — PolitiTweet.org

for a $600 mesh system, that’s disappointing, especially when Eero’s older/cheaper systems have the same reliability and coverage. you can pay a little more and get faster speeds from other Wi-Fi 6 routers but... — PolitiTweet.org

Eero advertises “gigabit Wi-Fi 6 for every corner of your home” on the box, but in my experience, it rarely delivered half of my Verizon FiOS gigabit service to devices. — PolitiTweet.org

here’s my review of the Eero Pro 6, after weeks of testing: the Pro 6 carries many of the Eero hallmarks: great design, easy set up, rock solid reliability. but it disappointed me on actual speeds, which is the whole reason to buy it: https://t.co/xxVeGxXaXD https://t.co/Fadl9FEASo — PolitiTweet.org

it’s one thing to win the very last game of the year as a save face. or head to the record books with a 0-16 record but the jets had to win their 14th game, which is the most uninteresting. they are going to end the season with a 1-15 record w/their only win the 3rd to last game — PolitiTweet.org
