@gamoid maybe! it’s just odd how Amazon’s Appstore started out pretty bad many years ago and has _only gotten worse_ over time. (i’m in the middle of testing the latest Fire HD tablets, all of this is very fresh pain for me) — PolitiTweet.org

@gamoid yeah but then you have to get the apk’s, which is often less than legal. not saying Windows users won’t do that, but the point of having an app store is to distribute apps! — PolitiTweet.org

@danielgary yeah, they do. the point is Amazon’s Appstore stinks and adds very little in terms of value to Windows. — PolitiTweet.org

Most of Microsoft apps aren’t there either — you can get Outlook, Teams, and the Office Suite app, but not individual Word or Excel apps. Obviously those are all available on Windows already, but the point is Amazon’s Appstore stinks! — PolitiTweet.org

Very popular apps I use every day not available in Amazon’s Appstore: Anything by Google (obviously) Slack Bitwarden, Lastpass, 1Password, or Dashlane Pocket Asana NY Times SwiftKey Todoist Feedly — PolitiTweet.org

for example, Pocket used to keep its app in the Amazon Appstore, just like it does with every other app store. But it pulled it from the Appstore, and to get the Pocket app on Fire tablets now, you have to sideload it, per Pocket’s own instructions: https://t.co/28P7OjcFLk — PolitiTweet.org

i have been reliably informed that this article likely skirted the 600 word rule because it’s considered a “slideshow” by the Insider CMS and therefore isn’t subject to it. i demand a hearing on the matter — PolitiTweet.org
