@blunderchief it’s possible, but i had been previously running a mixed Pro 6 / Pro (Wi-Fi 5) network and did not have the kinds of issues I had mixing the Pro 6E and Pro 6 nodes. — PolitiTweet.org

the Watch Ultra has finally died, lasting from 10:51pm on Wednesday to 3:58PM on Saturday, worn continuously with AOD on save for when I was sleeping and it was in sleep mode. I even did a 30 minute GPS-tracked walk today. That’s roughly 65 hours between charges. — PolitiTweet.org

@jaydoscher yeah i have no interest personally in managing a Unifi network, but i don’t fault those who do. — PolitiTweet.org

@adammiarka @davezatz @jp2e i don’t have the firewalla set up right now and tbh i don’t really want to touch this house of cards at the moment 🙃 — PolitiTweet.org

it’s wild how much more reliably AirPlay from my iPhone to my Sonos speakers is working now — PolitiTweet.org

@davezatz @jp2e *devices, not reviews — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
@davezatz @jp2e i definitely had problems with reviews not roaming to the correct nodes earlier, which appear to have been resolved by this change. — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
@davezatz it’s likely both, but @jp2e also had all kinds of problems mixing the 6E models with the 6 and the problems went away when the 6 nodes were removed from the network. which inspired me to do the same. — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
YMMV, but it seems that two Pro 6E nodes provide plenty of coverage in my ~2100sq ft mid-1960s split-level home. i am using wired backhaul between the two nodes. — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
the one downside is i have slightly worse coverage on my outside patio (half the nodes will do that!) but as the weather is going to crap very soon i don’t plan to worry about that until spring. — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
by “better” i mean it’s way more stable, devices aren’t dropping it off it all the time, throughput to devices is much more consistent. peak speeds have dropped, but 200Mbps to my iPhone is just as good as 300Mbps for my needs (my computer is hardwired) — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
personal, anecdotal experience: don’t bother attempting to mix Eero Pro 6E nodes with older Pro 6 nodes, they do not work well together. i pulled the two Pro 6 nodes out of my network this week and the network with the two remaining Pro 6E nodes is much better. — PolitiTweet.org

@davezatz i wear it to bed when i sleep not because i care much about sleep tracking but because it’s a very discreet and handy silent alarm to wake me up in the morning without disturbing my spouse — PolitiTweet.org

@davezatz information, communication, smart home controls, voice commands. it’s a smartphone on my wrist without social media. it tracks my activity, but fitness tracking is far down the line of things i want from a smart computer on my wrist, hence why i don’t care much about a garmin. — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
@Benjigalvin a titanium frame would address the ever-increasing weight of the Pro phones somewhat, i would think. — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
@davezatz yeah i mean, a Garmin doesn’t do anything i use an apple watch for so it’s like comparing a work boot to a running sneaker to me — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
@Benjigalvin as someone who doesn’t really like big phones, i hope not, but i have no idea. it doesn’t seem like Apple is concerned with making the iPhone battery last more than one day. — PolitiTweet.org

dan seifert @dcseifert
for my use cases (not an extreme athlete or athlete of any kind, just uses it for smartwatch information/communication) this is shaking out to be a “charge once every 2-3 days” watch, vs my (much smaller) 41mm S7, which i charged twice a day to get me through the overnight — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
@ZachHalverson if they make those as big as the ultra is, maybe. it’s just got a bigger gas tank, nothing else about it is more efficient than a Series 8. — PolitiTweet.org
dan seifert @dcseifert
i haven’t charged this apple watch ultra in 42 hours and there’s still 42% battery left. worn continuously the entire time (including during sleep) save for two ten minute periods when i took a shower. AOD on the entire time (except for when I was sleeping in Sleep mode) too. https://t.co/5xILmWYpOD — PolitiTweet.org
