@yegg @Jon_Alper @Danredwing It certainly does. I’d wager that most people who’ve even heard of @DuckDuckGo think of it as a search option for the major browsers. And being the first or second most downloaded browser on mobile doesn’t mean much when the vast majority of users simply use the first party apps. — PolitiTweet.org

@Jon_Alper @Danredwing No offense taken. It’s confusing. And few even know that DDG makes a standalone browser, rather than just being a search engine you can use with other browsers. They don’t do a good job explaining this. It’s as if they’re not sure what they want to be. But I’m still a fan. @yegg — PolitiTweet.org

@Jon_Alper @Danredwing I nixed the tweet to avoid confusion. I first tweeted about using DuckDuckGo as my search engine on Safari. And I do. And recommend it. But then I tweeted a screenshot showing how it blocks trackers, & someone pointed out that came from the separate standalone DuckDuckGo browser. — PolitiTweet.org

@qtaran111 @DuckDuckGo The search was conducted in Safari using @DuckDuckGo as my default search engine - not the separate, standalone DDG browser. But I think you’re right that, somehow, I got rerouted. To avoid confusion, I will take down the post. But I still strongly recommend @DuckDuckGo. — PolitiTweet.org

Here’s how @DuckDuckGo works. Using Safari, with DDG as search engine, I searched for the Boston Globe. (This was just an example. Not saying they’re worse than average.) Then I clicked to open the Globe site. The screenshot below shows just some of the 12 trackers DDG blocked. https://t.co/BTTMhtBvPj — PolitiTweet.org

After the massive security failure on 1/6, authorities are locking down DC for Inauguration Day. There’s a “green zone” and scores of street/transit closings. Many thousands of police officers and soldiers are here. But Trumpist thugs may show up starting tomorrow. @washingtonian https://t.co/JRTQB6yACu — PolitiTweet.org

Another @peacockTV fail. It crashed twice tonight on my iPad Pro during a single 43-minute episode of a TV show. That makes five crashes overall since I started using it. I didn’t screenshot the error messages this time, but they were similar to the one shown below. #Peacockfail https://t.co/uf32FM4ZEu — PolitiTweet.org
