@LanceUlanoff @stevesi IMO, the closest precursor to the iPhone was the Treo, not the BB, or Windows Mobile. It wasn’t designed to mimic a PC or pager, it was aimed at users, not IT departments (except for the later Windows CE version) and it had a third party app platform. It’s all I used pre-2007. — PolitiTweet.org

@stevesi As someone else noted, Windows Phone wasn’t in the market before iPhone. It launched three years later. Microsoft did have a phone before the iPhone, but it was Windows Mobile, the (IMO) truly terrible system based on Windows CE & Pocket PC. — PolitiTweet.org

The U.S. has a secret, highly accurate, missile that lacks an explosive and kills suspected terrorists with an array of knives, to avoid civilian casualties. Fascinating story by ⁦@WSJ⁩. https://t.co/KS5NkITLUK — PolitiTweet.org

3/ I’m repeating this story because this is how journalism should work, and this is how the @WSJ worked during my career there, and this happened under the leadership of Warren Phillips, who passed away this week. Cc @murraymatt — PolitiTweet.org

2/ The car company, the long gone American Motors (run by Mitt Romney’s father), threatened to pull its ads if we ran the story. The paper ran it, lost the ads - and gave me a raise. I never forgot it. — PolitiTweet.org

@megangrA At best, this is a cynical move to bolster his 2020 campaign. At worst, it’s another step towards creating a cult of personality, and treating the presidency as reality TV. — PolitiTweet.org

@anujtaxali @LaurenGoode @gadgetlab I disagree. Just the act of collecting a vast amount of personal info without your explicit permission or even knowledge is an evil practice. If it was all opt-in and there was a clear offer of what you got in return, including payment if you chose, then it would be ok. — PolitiTweet.org
