I just finished listening to the premier of the new season of the Land of the Giants podcast, all about @Netflix. It's even better than I expected. Terrific journalism by @pkafka and @ranimolla, including interviews with @reedhastings and Ted Sarandos. https://t.co/yLhbn3d5PY — PolitiTweet.org

@GaborFari He shipped years of beloved versions of Office and overhauled the UI. He saved Windows from the Vista debacle caused by someone else. In this thread, he explains why the siloed Microsoft method made it hard to do big, unified things successfully. As opposed to Apple. — PolitiTweet.org

The lengthy official name of our smallest state by size is the “State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations”, the result of a merger of colonies in the 1600s. The word “plantations” likely was just an archaic term for “colony”. But it obviously has racist connotations now. — PolitiTweet.org

Interesting thread from the state treasurer of Rhode Island. Though this change is being made to improve race relations, it will also have the effect of shortening the country’s longest official state name, at least on state government checks. Nobody uses it anyway. — PolitiTweet.org
