@CacheJewels How does a verification system for the people likeliest to be impersonated erase your voice? I read and reply to tweets without checkmarks all the time. I only look for the checkmark in cases where I’m not sure the person isn’t an impersonator. — PolitiTweet.org
Walt Mossberg @waltmossberg
The Twitter checkmark isn’t a status symbol. It’s much more useful than that. It allows you to quickly check whether someone is the real deal and not an impersonator. This improves Twitter overall, and impedes bad actors. So it should be free and universal, not a paid perk. — PolitiTweet.org

@katzish How about @katzish buys Twitter from Elon for just $8 a month and runs it in the interest of users who would like to discuss, debate, promote or laugh at stuff without phony polls, disinformation, hate speech, etc.? I’d be for that. — PolitiTweet.org

@jesuiszachary IMO, you can’t do an “Eras” tour without All Too Well - either the short TV or long TV. I’m no expert, but I believe she’s performed it in many of her live shows well beyond the Red era. It’s her anthem, the fans love to sing it, and she loves hearing the fans singing it. — PolitiTweet.org

@ebaileymershon @DuckDuckGo @Google I’ve been using @DuckDuckGo instead of @Google search for years. But I’m confused by your implication it’s a substitute for Facebook. DDG isn’t a social network. — PolitiTweet.org

BTW, I’m not opposed to the subscription model for Twitter in general. I already pay for Blue. It’s this particular idea I oppose. — PolitiTweet.org
Walt Mossberg @waltmossberg
One of the things @Twitter needs is *more* trust and transparency, to make it harder for the bad actors to do things like impersonate others. Suddenly charging - a lot - for existing free verification will slash its use and harm the platform. Find a new, helpful feature to sell. — PolitiTweet.org
