Religion has both caused wars and prevented them. People who act like most wars or atrocities are 'caused by religion' are not intellectually honest. Heck, just look at the last century... The greatest atrocities were committed by people that totally rejected God and religion. — PolitiTweet.org

I have a theory that tendency towards radicalism/zealotry is more of a personal trait than rooted in a particular belief. You can install various types of ideological 'software' on such a person and they'll be a zealot for the cause. Could be religious, political, dietary, etc. — PolitiTweet.org
