Sweden is taking a different approach - select quarantine, distancing guidelines, keeping most things open and trying to develop herd immunity. There is no obvious right answer - anyone who is absolutely certain of things is who you shouldn't listen to! https://t.co/mZ6TI2Ic0e — PolitiTweet.org

It is almost impossible to imagine Secretariat not winning this. I was ten when Secretariat won the triple crown (I knew nothing about racing) and I still remember how extraordinary it was, particularly Belmont. https://t.co/Ygs6yhPqVB — PolitiTweet.org

This study is a positive development. It appears that while it is not a "cure" remdesivir will be a positive option for treating COVID and that 5 days of treatment is as good as 10 days, effectively doubling the reach of the drug's supply. https://t.co/FFSoyzvjnC — PolitiTweet.org

Perhaps as a term of Treasury's $25 billion life line financing to the airlines they could have required them to give out masks? Maybe instead of the pretzels? https://t.co/3irABIRqYs — PolitiTweet.org

Comparisons to the Great Depression not accurate. This will be worse in the short term but not nearly as long (depression was 10 years). Also, government and Fed did little during Depression - letting banks fail, asset prices drop etc. That's not happening today - gov't is acting — PolitiTweet.org

2 facts that inform how we reopen: The lethality of the virus is dramatically higher for the elderly & immune compromised The virus is significantly more likely to be spread in bars, concerts, crowded events as compared to office work, outdoor work/activities, retail — PolitiTweet.org

.@Jaredpolis is one of the smartest people in American politics. He looks at data & has good judgment. His approach to reopening Colorado is sensible. There is no easy answer to the reopening decision but people have to make the call and have a plan based on available information — PolitiTweet.org

We will beat this virus and when we do things will return to normal. We will have learned from this experience, become more adaptable and more thankful. These painful lessons will provide us the foundation to build a more prosperous and resilient future. — PolitiTweet.org

Only one thing that is clear: No one has the exact right answer on reopening b/c we have never dealt with this before & have no playbook Therefore, what is also clear is that we need to be tolerant as to different views on how to proceed & learn from experiences in other nations — PolitiTweet.org

The notion that a pathogen accidentally leaked from a lab in Wuhan is now viewed by scientists and governments as a distinct possibility. China needs to cooperate in an investigation as understanding the origin of the virus is crucial. https://t.co/jpYJvKTTnE — PolitiTweet.org

I'm from a densely populated blue collar town in North Jersey - a place in the shadow of NYC & at the center of the COVID tragedy. It breaks my heart to see how hard hit NY Metro is - over 50% all US COVID deaths. There is no simple answer why it's so bad https://t.co/3jt8On8Rlt — PolitiTweet.org

@Sqrrl101 I didn't tout them, if you read with care you will see that I said if they are accurate, which implies a need for further work and review. But they are credible, preliminary studies when you consider the source - Stanford and USC - not known for shoddy work. — PolitiTweet.org

As we wrestle with the reopen decision the risk of reopening too soon is obvious - the tragic loss of human life - but don't lose sight of the hardship of staying closed too long - kids not getting educated; increased depression, anxiety and domestic violence & increased poverty — PolitiTweet.org

A smart reopening plan from @jaredpolis. We can begin to reopen but it must contain isolation of at risk people, use common sense measures for businesses, avoid reopening big-spreaders (bars, etc), continue masks & deploy large scale testing/tracing. https://t.co/k8bgZj3dVj — PolitiTweet.org

Some of us may have different views as to how and when a State should reopen (and in truth there is no easy or obvious answer for that decision) but we all should be rooting for them to be successful and experience the best possible health outcomes associated with reopening. — PolitiTweet.org

We now have two credible studies (Stanford and USC) suggesting a truly huge undercount of coronavirus infections. If they are accurate then this virus is much easier to spread than we thought but also less lethal than we thought. https://t.co/4zlhB9eo4C — PolitiTweet.org
