Covid cases rising is a big set back & underscores the need to make masks mandatory & limit large/dense gatherings. Let's hope that it doesn't translate into the fatalities we saw in NY/NJ & let's be positive in our support of the states seeing a surge - we are in this together. — PolitiTweet.org

Our dependence on foreign producers of critical materials & products for our national and public health security needs to be addressed ASAP. A "We Need It In America" initiative should be launched to address the reshoring of certain critical capabilities https://t.co/0NgIh9FX4z — PolitiTweet.org

If folks wore masks & avoided large/dense gatherings we could reopen safely. Unfortunately, people didn't follow those rules so cases are, not surprisingly, rising Let's hope that better prepared hc system + new treatments result in much lower fatalities than we saw in NYC — PolitiTweet.org

Probably because they are not social distancing, more young people infected with Covid as cases surge. While this will reduce the fatality rate it creates significant risk for vulnerable & seniors who interact with them https://t.co/PjUoAnBttL — PolitiTweet.org

Based on both Biden's strong polling and the weak polling of many GOP Senators up for re-election in swing states, the most important issue for the country to debate may soon be the Senate filibuster and cloture rules...... — PolitiTweet.org

@ardennes1789 That's your opinion - and you may be right (Let's hope you are not). Based on what Fauci has said and based on research reports I've read, I feel ok saying that a vaccine "may" be available in the fall for some people Do you have direct professional experience with vaccines? — PolitiTweet.org

@ardennes1789 I'm saying that when FDA approves a vaccine I will take it. Fauci is indicating we "may" have vaccine in the fall, which assumes sufficient trials will be done to justify the FDA approving it. How long it has taken to test different vaccines in the past is not relevant to today — PolitiTweet.org

@ardennes1789 It's not propaganda; it is my view based on trust in FDA According to Fauci we "may" have a vaccine in the fall. That means, by definition, one approved by the FDA (& the FDA equivalent in other nations). I trust those agencies. I would take that vaccine as soon as I'm eligible — PolitiTweet.org

Engel's District is a safe Democratic District and therefore perfectly appropriate for a very progressive candidate Many other House Districts are competitive and require moderate democratic candidate to win To control the House we need both https://t.co/PdSUs9Dd0P — PolitiTweet.org

@ardennes1789 I believe the folks at the FDA (& other countries regulatory bodies) & the vaccine developers will not let a vaccine be approved w/out proper testing. I will take an approved vaccine as soon as I'm eligible (recognizing that my age/health will not put me in the first wave) — PolitiTweet.org

"Fauci, The nationโ€™s top infectious disease doctor says he believes a vaccine is a matter of โ€œwhen and not if.โ€" Certain promising vaccines could be available in the fall, which is particularly important considering the rise of cases. https://t.co/1wkdkcVyA1 — PolitiTweet.org

Cases surging in FL but over a 1/3 of the cases are people under 30 & 2/3 are people under 55, very different than their last spike in April. This likely means younger people are not distancing as much but older, more vulnerable people are being careful https://t.co/BzUYA1hqN4 — PolitiTweet.org

Governors fighting with each other is not what the country needs, but perhaps the absence of federal leadership drives it. Neither can claim the high ground. Cases is FL are clearly surging and Covid death in NY represent 25% of all US Covid fatalities https://t.co/VmuAfQLRDk — PolitiTweet.org

Once we have a vaccine & Covid is manageable, we should launch public health messaging to ensure that certain simple behavior changes such as not shaking hands, wearing a mask if your are sick, washing hands etc. stick. It could significantly reduce seasonal flu & common cold. — PolitiTweet.org

Wear a mask It is the most effective thing any of us can do while we wait for a vaccine Governments and business should require them And if the media is not dedicating every other Covid story to their importance they are not doing their job https://t.co/Pm0f2JzLpX — PolitiTweet.org

Thanks to our healthcare workers, we have made good progress on what was a national embarrassment We are now in the top 10% of testing per million people out of all the nations in the world and have done 21% of the world's tests despite being only 5% of the world's population. https://t.co/1msPVphGjj — PolitiTweet.org

Random act of kindness April's late dad was an Idaho potato farmer. 3rd generation farm that was lost during the farm crisis of the 80s A friend of her dads (who she didn't know) found an old potato sack from the family farm and sent it to her with a lovely note about her dad. https://t.co/xvEGOpaPNk — PolitiTweet.org

The data can be complicated Some hospitals seeing an increase in Covid ICU admissions Some hospitals seeing an increase in ICU admission - but NOT from Covid - from medical issues not attended to during lockdown And some hospitals are seeing a decrease in all ICU admissions — PolitiTweet.org

The Kentucky primary is getting a lot of attention and a lot of money, but let's not lose sight of the races where Dems have a much higher probability of flipping seats - like CO, ME, MT, AZ and even NC. — PolitiTweet.org
