@Conservatives It underlines the most important part of education policy: attainment. We have made huge strides in education outcomes recently - internationally, regionally and locally - but we need to continue improving and strengthening OFSTED will greatly help: https://t.co/qxf7lglKOu — PolitiTweet.org

Really pleased to see @Conservatives pledging to strengthen OFSTED, rather than scrap the one measure of educational performance trusted by millions of parents. In particular, removing 'outstanding' schools from inspection exemption is important - all schools should be monitored. — PolitiTweet.org

@suffolk_canary Correct. But like Marks Tey & Colchester lots of my constituents commute from there, & the crossing has significant impact on the Brantham industrial estate which is in S Suffolk. — PolitiTweet.org

V positive that Goldman Sachs have upgraded their growth forecasts for the next 3 years, predicting a rise of 2.4 per cent in the second half of 2020, but it is dependent on 'Brexit clarity' - and that is dependent on? A Conservative majority. Quite. https://t.co/d72TwUfQGu — PolitiTweet.org

@wpetre44 @suffolkvillage @anandMenon1 But over at Goldman Sachs they see the importance to future growth forecasts of achieving greater Brexit certainty, and they see a Conservative majority as central that, boosting growth if we can get it. https://t.co/d72TwUfQGu — PolitiTweet.org

@Roseville_Girl Agreed. We've had a couple of meetings of the stakeholder group that includes Suffolk and Essex CCs, Babergh & Tendring, etc, and we have agreed some very positive next steps. If re-elected I want to see us make progress on this and one part of that is safety. Very good point. — PolitiTweet.org

@KendrickLemuur @DupreeGraham @SuffEUAlliance I've not joined the Brexit Party & I don't endorse them. Graham has joined the Conservative Party. Since the referendum I have said repeatedly we should respect the vote & negotiate a good deal to implement it, not WTO terms. We now have a good deal. No change in my position. — PolitiTweet.org

@suffolkboy76 @MalcolmAllard @RichardSober @leeparkernewton In reality such ultra austerity, which presumably you don’t advocate, would have been largely self-defeating as we could have killed any recovery in growth. So, sensibly we let the deficit fall significantly but over several years, hence, still adding to total debt annually. — PolitiTweet.org

@suffolkboy76 @MalcolmAllard @RichardSober @leeparkernewton No it doesn’t. If there is still a deficit the overall debt will still rise. The deficit we inherited in 2010 was at 10% GDP biggest since WW2. To repeat again: for total debt not to have risen would have required tens of billions extra cuts or tax rises to abolish it in 2011. — PolitiTweet.org
