@thewaryfox My panels take up 64ft x 8ft of land. Nothing is without cost or damage, but I do think renewables are and will continue to be less damaging than oil. And I’m not anti-oil, I just think cars are an area where we could benefit from electric — PolitiTweet.org

@RepStickland Some caveats for me. I don’t think our government should allow China to take over our energy, grain, or fiber production. Pure free market would allow that (has allowed that). I think the power of government should intervene at times to stop other nations from controlling us — PolitiTweet.org

@BradH0101 Currently, yes (No pun intended). At $0.10 per kWh, my ev would cost $7.50 to bring 320 miles of range. My former truck would cost $130.90 for same 320 miles. — PolitiTweet.org

Ma’am, respectfully, it appears that you struggle to recognize the existence of nuance and detail. It also seems that you did not develop appropriate evidentiary standards throughout the course of your life. Thanks. — PolitiTweet.org

@3Strands4now @RepStickland I’m having difficulty making sense of your questions. In my case, I installed a solar power system because the grid went down. Now when the grid doesn’t have power, I do have power. — PolitiTweet.org

I agree! We should put all that war/diplomacy money we currently spend on oil into incentives for EV component manufacturing in West Texas. We should lead on this rather than bending over and allowing China to lead. Good idea :) — PolitiTweet.org

Jonathan Stickland @RepStickland

@brandondarby I'd rather rely on power from West Texas and not Chinese companies in regards to our future.

I plug in my car at night and wake up with 320 miles of range. And it’s free. I have a massive solar power system. How much does it cost to fill up your tank? Also, on road trips it adds an hour of travel time for each 500 miles in a Tesla, and again, charging is cheap. — PolitiTweet.org

Rick Duval @DuvalRick

@brandondarby I can fill up a tank of gas in 2 minutes and get 500 miles.

Not really. For instance, the 340 miles from Lubbock to Cooper’s bbq in Llano takes about 5 hrs with gas, about 6 with electric. The Tesla has a huge screen, plenty of games, all of my streaming services (Netflix, YouTube, etc). The air conditioning is ice cold. Not so bad. — PolitiTweet.org

Charging doesn’t take hours. The level 3 chargers they’re referring to can charge up to 500 miles of range per hour. Here’s a good explainer: https://t.co/ObxQWc9WpW — PolitiTweet.org
