@anandMenon1 Sorry - wasn't taking it as such and you make a good point. To be fair, Labour hasn't been very relevant in many leafy Home County seats even when winning Parliamentary majorities (eg 2005). But it's hard to see how they can now get a majority without advancing in those seats. — PolitiTweet.org

@anandMenon1 Thanks, Anand. I tried to set out how Labour might exploit the 'Blue Wall' opportunity in an earlier piece (below) but, unless Labour goes in a radically different direction, the Lib Dems have a better chance. Even they will have to change, too. https://t.co/JZyOONFraZ — PolitiTweet.org

My piece from May in @newstatesman on why the yacht is a bad idea. No surprise that yesterday’s Sunday Times quoted an official saying “the royal yacht is a complete and utter sh**show” & another saying “there’s a huge row about who’s going to fund it.” https://t.co/rOVwXvdO3B — PolitiTweet.org

‘Chesham & Amersham does prove that during a by-election a significant number of Labour voters may back the Lib Dems. But this wasn’t enough, nor was the shift from the Greens to the Lib Dems. What got the Lib Dems over the line was winning unenthused Tory voters.’ — PolitiTweet.org

Ben Walker @bnhwalker

I have opinions on the notion of a progressive alliance - the primary one being that it is a nonsense. Have a read! https://t.co/066iAIKBMh
