@oneunderscore__ honestly this is not a bad idea to me. there’s already a ton of porn on twitter, And it’s basically free lead gen for sexworker creator types to send customers to their only fans kinda surprised they didn’t try versions of this earlier — PolitiTweet.org

@lmc @TheRealWBTC i think it was @harryh who was saying there's not really a good way to do layoffs especially in pandemic world. technology is really bad at it. ideally you'd do it in office but what do the logistics look like? — PolitiTweet.org

also i think these two mistakes are true of most tech companies i can think of after the first six-nine months of the pandemic β€” recall a lot of "everything is online forever" thinking https://t.co/2hWbR7z0GK — PolitiTweet.org

this is a pretty "good" letter (inasmuch as any layoffs letter like this can be) to stripe employees with actual insight into why cuts to the biz are coming β€” feels like a real window into macroeconomic trends and how they're hitting tech in general https://t.co/h45fHQbVKu — PolitiTweet.org

@FerrariCakes there is tech that has some level of detection and filtering. for instance, some advertisers wont buy ads against gun content, or race-related content. these things are what advertisers opt out of on NYT ads, for example harder to do that if entire platform is flooded with crap — PolitiTweet.org

@oliviercantin here's where i agree with you β€” IF twitter could spin up self-serve longtail over time they would certainly have a shot because that is facebook's entire biz where im skeptical is that twtr is a brand advertising platform trying and failing for years to be a Direct Response one — PolitiTweet.org

@joemillerjd i actually dont know what the ad inventory size next to "important" accounts is but i do think it exists. but to your point maybe it should be smaller and more expensive — PolitiTweet.org

@peteryared not sure what you're getting at here. NYT is nowhere near FB or GOOG as a player and my point is just because TWTR is an ad-supported tech company doesnt mean they are either if NYT took off all of its content guardrails you'd bet there'd be advertiser flight too! — PolitiTweet.org
