@sccrdude63 @Topps @SABRbbcards @PostWarCards @CardboardHistry @WaxPackGods @70sBaseball This set is my sentimental favorite -- the year I turned 8 and began collecting. Completed it ~30 years ago and probably could upgrade some of the cards. — PolitiTweet.org

@1974Baseball @RonBlomberg1 And just imagine how much better he would’ve hit without the donut on his bat. https://t.co/JLxpQspSQ7 — PolitiTweet.org

@Caniac01 You're right. But at the time, posed pics were so dominant (except for a few action shots in 1971 set) that these jumped off the cardboard, at least to my young self. Topps revived In Action cards in 1982 but by then action photography on a card wasn't at all special. — PolitiTweet.org

@nyctaper @Topps @SABRbbcards @PostWarCards @CardboardHistry @WaxPackGods @70sBaseball Mays is odd with someone's leg in the foreground but it still works. I've never figured out what's going on in the Darrell Evans card. — PolitiTweet.org

@DavidWilner4 I finished that set around 1980 so I haven't really been in the marketplace for 1972s for awhile. I know the high numbers were always a challenge and the semi-high 5th series was no picnic either. — PolitiTweet.org

@JimClarkeAP Whereas the In Action card of my favorite player, Roberto Clemente, was a disappointment at the time. I’ve grown to like the expressiveness in this photo, but it was a major bummer in elementary school. https://t.co/FBk0G44LjV — PolitiTweet.org

Lotsa reading material on the backs! Who can forget Terry Harmon breaking the record for chances in a game by a 2nd baseman? Not 1972 @Topps collectors. https://t.co/LDzd5qimQa — PolitiTweet.org

The @Orioles were coming off 3 straight AL pennants, but none of their players are featured. There are 11 @Mets. https://t.co/Prb3FD6eFl — PolitiTweet.org

Some odd catcher choices. Bob Barton looking forlornly into the stands & three others who weren’t even regular backstops on their teams. https://t.co/bch0xX9ikt — PolitiTweet.org

At least 29 were shot at Candlestick Park. In fact, it appears all 72 were shot in the Bay Area or in Yankee Stadium or Shea Stadium in New York. https://t.co/yYaAuoQn66 — PolitiTweet.org

Among my 2nd grade peers at the time, hard to overstate what a sensation the 1972 @Topps In Action cards created. Thread... 🧵 @SABRbbcards @PostWarCards @CardboardHistry @WaxPackGods @70sBaseball https://t.co/J3MfiFo4mB — PolitiTweet.org

@AdamBerkowitz33 @mikebeacom @Markhoyle4 @SABRbbcards @CardboardHistry @PostWarCards The '66 is in Yankee Stadium and the '68-'69 appear to be spring training. The '66 is a rare example of Yaz smiling in a pose. That said, you weren't getting much variety in Yaz cards from 1966-69. — PolitiTweet.org
