@danielwinlander @RyanRadia @jbarro The person has interests and the public has an interest in the general ability to write pseudonymously. Other interests can outweigh those but you have to articulate them to see if they do. — PolitiTweet.org
Conor Friedersdorf @conor64
@danielwinlander @RyanRadia @jbarro You've offered no argument stronger than "it's our default." I think the default is wrong, and that if someone wants to be anonymous, and the only counterargument is *that's not our default* you need more to prevail in my book. — PolitiTweet.org
Conor Friedersdorf @conor64
@danielwinlander @jbarro That it is a hospice nurse might be newsworthy, though I'm not even sure about that. Why is it newsworthy? And regardless, is the name of the particular hospice nurse newsworthy? I need an account of why. — PolitiTweet.org
Conor Friedersdorf @conor64
@jbarro It seems to me that revealing the author's identity may or may not be in the public interest depending on who they are. If it's Tom Cotton, definitely. If it's a hospice nurse, not sure what knowing her specific name adds. I won't know what I think until I know the details. — PolitiTweet.org

@ijbailey @CathyYoung63 How have you assessed the primary way these stories are being used? It seems to me that the primary way they are being used is to inform people, not to create empathy or as a weapon. — PolitiTweet.org

@ijbailey @CathyYoung63 @VampirePlanner @zrsnider @XBillups @BeatCalledBros @CuriousIamblue @DerekPederson3 @Sebastian_Hols @JamesSurowiecki @MerkinMuffley5 @donmoyn My answer for *who, ideally, should decide?* is school boards, unless something is a violation of statutory or Constitutional rights, in which case the courts have a role.
