@davidglenwalker … .. . It’s an iPad — PolitiTweet.org

Okay I am very jealous that in my years reviewing tablets, I never thought of this analogy @nicnguyen has in her iPad Air review. “Tablets are like sporks: part mobile phone, part computer—not quite crushing either job." https://t.co/UvWHzcKOM1 — PolitiTweet.org

Here’s my review of the new 2020 iPad Air. It is fast and good. Some of you will want to know if you should get it instead of a base iPad. You should if you can afford it. Some of you will just want to see @vjeranpavic’s cat on the video. Good news! https://t.co/0nIiwoGKBz https://t.co/tx4zP6ePrR — PolitiTweet.org

@SteveMoser @rjonesy …and 2. Voice & Data: the thing that allows the phone to drop to LTE when it thinks you don’t need 5G (but still shows 5G icon in status bar) — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
@SteveMoser @rjonesy actually sorry I was thinking a different setting in previous, deleted tweet. There are two settings for 5G. 1 Data Mode (that screen) that allows iPhone to do more stuff on 5G. that list not inclusive I think. EG it also includes iOS updates. ... — PolitiTweet.org

This concludes my random and incomplete thoughts on MagSafe — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
5.5 What is the point of the Wireless Power Consortium if it can't get companies to consort with the Qi standard? I know standards processes are slow and etc etc, but get it together y'all. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
5. I dearly hope that we aren't looking at a permanently fragmented world for Qi chargers. Right now we have variously different and often incompatible fast wireless charging methodologies that "extend" Qi from Apple, Google, Samsung, and OnePlus (and maybe I missed some) — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
4. I haven't had a problem charging any other Qi compatible devices with the MagSafe puck. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
3.8(? numbering is hard) The wallet only holds three or at most four cards. And there's no divot on the outside to remove them. You really do need to take the wallet off the phone to access a little open spot to slide your thumb along to get a card out. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
3.3 Also, @vjeranpavic briefly lost the wallet the other night while using it, it may have slipped off when he put it in his pocket. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
3. As everybody has mentioned, Apple's cases don't snap on any differently than before. I will be curious to see what third parties do. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
2. As previously tweeted, the magnets on the iPhone are not enough to let it stick to a fridge. The MagSafe puck itself will stick, but only on the charging side. You'll need to double-stick tape it if you want to put it anywhere. https://t.co/DjvDglFrTi — PolitiTweet.org

Important magnet test https://t.co/ImjbudX4dI
Dieter Bohn @backlon
1.5 I suppose the implied "Safe" is that it can safely charge wirelessly at 15W because it's guaranteed to be aligned and to have been approved by Apple (either by making it directly or via MFI). Sure I guess, but it's still weird. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
1. Why is it called MagSafe? I get that it's a beloved brand, but the "Safe" in "MagSafe" was that your laptop wouldn't go flying when you tripped over the cable. Here, the cable's too short to trip over and even if you do, the magnets are guaranteed to send your phone flying. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
And now, some unsolicited and frankly random and incomplete thoughts about MagSafe on the iPhone 12 now that I've used it. https://t.co/k8srkIyxbd https://t.co/kWYjaXDC98 — PolitiTweet.org
