And it's worse in some screens than others. Early Galaxy Fold models were much more annoying for jelly scroll. — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
Note that this isn't some huge controversy -- lots of screen do this! It's just that in some, when they're bigger for example, it can be more noticeable than others. It's not a reason to avoid the iPad Mini, which spoiler alert I really like. https://t.co/Yy9oTuabon — PolitiTweet.org

Nothing new, all iPads have this problem. But please, fix this Apple 🙏 https://t.co/kqiJPXBhz1

Dieter Bohn @backlon
@sturmen Yeah just …need time to set that up. Lot going on :) — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
Here is is slow-mo video of scrolling on the iPad Min i slowed down EVEN MORE in a frame-by-frame step through. Notice how the right moves up faster than the left. In normal usage you barely see it, but every now and then it become noticeable. In landscape it goes away entirely https://t.co/iq9LGJzsDI — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
Haven't seen if anybody else reported this but I see when scrolling in portrait mode with a lot of text on the screen there is a small amount of jelly scroll, where one side moves faster than the other. It’s subtle enough that it’s hard for me to film it, but it’s there. — PolitiTweet.org

I’ll have a full review of the iPad Mini next week. I dearly love using it but those who are thinking of going from big to small should know it really does have a functional difference in how you use it. It’s not just your iPad, but smaller. — PolitiTweet.org

@halidecamera @legomite oh and to your first tweet, the 13 Pro’s willingness to let shadows be shadows was the very first thing I noticed — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
@halidecamera @legomite What Halide said, I’m standing right next to a well lit window with lots of neon (which was cycling colors so it took a few tries). In general telephoto is worse in low light, but if you pick your shots carefully you’ve got a lot to work with. — PolitiTweet.org

Interesting point I forgot to put in the review: you can turn off the variable refresh rate, and that setting is found in accessibility. — PolitiTweet.org

During the course of this review every time I started to get tired I would just open up Instagram and laugh my ass off that this app can’t seem to handle the tiniest change in screens and be refreshed. Just utterly broken on the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro. How is it ALWAYS this bad? — PolitiTweet.org

Dieter Bohn @backlon
If you look closely at this video of @vjeranpavic maintaining his dignity while I sacrifice my own for the sake of this review, you can see two things: 1. Cinematic misses the details on edges, even in good light, but still looks okay enough for mobile 2. It can be very fun. https://t.co/qioZj4qNEo — PolitiTweet.org
Dieter Bohn @backlon
More on Cinematic. In medium light, quality is noticeably worse. In low light the feature either doesn’t work or breaks down, reverting to regular focus. It’s also a software blur. Think of it as the equivalent of the first year of Portrait Mode for photos. Fun, but buggy. https://t.co/GtxmzMoWRZ — PolitiTweet.org

You may notice I haven’t put scores on the 13 Mini and 13 Pro Max. We don’t base reviews on artificial battery rundown tests, so I don’t have enough info yet. I think my early impressions in the reviews are correct, but will update in the next week or so after more testing. — PolitiTweet.org

Photographic Profiles: neat, and I actually might use them! Cinematic Mode: fun! But I will never use it and neither will film makers until the quality gets better and it actually works in the kind of low light Apple has been showing in its ads for the feature. — PolitiTweet.org
