@matthewstoller Without 230, Facebook (or anyone) could sue Substack (or any website) for defamation (or other things) related to user content. You seem to think Substack would invest in the expensive lawyers necessary to defend against Facebook instead of just deleting the post. That’s absurd — PolitiTweet.org

@ggreenwald @matthewstoller It's a real problem. Trump's reckless COVID-19 lies/misinfo in tweets and FB posts have arguably lead to countless preventable deaths. So has hate speech. I'm just not convinced throwing out free speech on the internet is the answer. Maybe §230 reform, but not repealing — PolitiTweet.org
