Yes, movies can be altered by any entity that owns the negative. That person or company is considered the “author” of the film. I did a lot of films in the 80’s that were produced by independent small companies. Many of those films end up butchered by companies that buy them. — PolitiTweet.org

The scene was actually mostly improvised. The idea for it came from the prop man on the set. He asked if I could do anything in a scene if he rigged a ballpoint pen to some Semtex, and we worked it into the script. Our writers welcomed the idea. Glad you liked it. — PolitiTweet.org
