@BriannaWu @verge yeah, this is definitely a problem in my house too. but not specific to August, any smart lock is going to have this issue. August used to sell a tapered dead bolt you could install, but I don't think it does any more (maybe it failed kick tests?) — PolitiTweet.org

@BriannaWu @verge what's even more interesting is Yale owns August and uses August tech in its locks also possible the bolt on motor is just less powerful than the full units, but I'm not sure. the 4th gen August (the one on sale above) has a new motor in it. — PolitiTweet.org
