some more deets on the “adapter” because i just find it hilarious: Chamberlain/Liftmaster's myQ platform is so closed and crappy that almost nothing works with it. you can't just wire one of these controllers in to the opener like you can with most other door openers — PolitiTweet.org

so this company's solution is to send you a wireless remote, like you might clip to your car's sunvisor, that you wire to the controller. you program the remote to your door like any other, and then this controller "pushes" the button when you use the app or a voice command — PolitiTweet.org
