Dark Sky’s Android app has been around for four years and has over a million downloads according to the Play Store, so it’s not like it wasn’t used on the platform. Apple killing it is just out of spite. — PolitiTweet.org

no “congrats on the acquisition” from me because A) That’s a super weird thing for a journalist to say to a company they cover B) Apple is killing the only good weather app for Android as a result of this. the API is also dying by end of 2021, so third party apps won’t last. — PolitiTweet.org

outside of Dark Sky, weather apps on Android are a minefield of privacy issues/bad design/obnoxious ads. i guess I’m just going to have to use the crappy app that comes installed on the phone now? — PolitiTweet.org
