Good question! 1. Trump *did* direct taxpayer $ to his businesses — at least $2.5M. 2. But his politics also drove away old customers. Our best guess is that the losses from #2 exceeded the gains from #1. But #1 still matters, b/c it was a use of power to enrich himself — PolitiTweet.org
