I was deeply involved in talks around these events at the time. I never heard of a Beijing veto. I do know Obama & Medvedev discussed many times. US-Russia cooperation on Kyrgyzstan prevented worst case scenarios like CSTO intervention. That factor obviously not present now — PolitiTweet.org
