@mattyglesias @BenjySarlin @MattGertz I think this overstates things. they undertook a strategy because they thought that a bipartisan deal was achievable, in part due to the perception of the political costs. They got a huge bipartisan majority in the Senate and Boehner killed it. It didn't work. — PolitiTweet.org
