Quick note: while al-Qaeda has been significantly weakened, it still operates in multiple countries. At some point, AQAP in Yemen was its strongest link. I’ll venture to say that today Shabaab in Somalia is AQ’s strongest faction, probably followed by JNIM. — PolitiTweet.org
